Mark Severson

Mark Severson - President 

Mark joined Saddleback Associates in 2006 after 6 years of selling commercial title and escrow services in the San Diego and Riverside markets. He started his title career in 2000 with Chicago Title Company, and in 2002 he moved to Land America Commercial Services. During his last year of 2005, Mark was awarded the #1 top producer for the San Diego / Inland Empire Region of Land America Commercial Services. During his years in the commercial title business, Mark worked closely with developers, brokers, and lenders and in order to better understand the commercial real estate business.


In 2006 Mark joined Saddleback as Vice President / Asset Manager of the real estate investment portfolio. In 2010 Mark was promoted to President.  Today mark runs the day to day operations of the company as President, while continuing his role as asset manager of the real estate investment portfolio. Mark’s many roles include real estate financing, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and marketing efforts.  In an effort to further grow the real estate portfolio and company, Mark continues to seek out both value add and investment property for acquisition.  Mark represents the Severson family’s 50% ownership of both Saddleback Associates, Inc. and Severson and Smith, GP. 


Mark currently lives with his wife and son in San Clemente, CA.  In his pare time Mark likes to golf, surf, fish, travel and spend time with friends and family.

Tim S. Shook

Timothy S. Shook – Vice President  

Tim joined Saddleback Associates in 2018. Tim has an extensive back ground in construction. Tim started his own construction management company called TSSC, Inc. Tim and TSSC, Inc. became the primary general contractor for Saddleback Associates’ many development projects. Having directly built a majority of the properties owned by Saddleback Associates in Southern California, Tim has a deep understanding of the physical attributes of properties owned and managed by Saddleback. 


Tim continues to be involved with anything construction related from new project development, improvements to core real estate portfolio and value add acquisitions. Tim’s day to day role includes maintenance of properties, building rehab when tenants vacate, tenant improvements, and building improvements. Tim will now be working side by side with Mark Severson as a principal of Saddleback Associates, Inc and Severson and Smith, GP. Tim currently represents the Smith’s 50% ownership of Saddleback Associates, Inc and Severson and Smith, GP.


Tim lives with his wife in Fallbrook, CA.  In his spare time Tim enjoys spending time with his several grandchildren and visiting his second home in Northern Idaho.

Helen Alonso

Helen Alonso – Controller

Helen Joined Saddleback Associates in 2000 bringing with her an extensive knowledge of accounting and general finance. In early 2010 Helen was promoted to Controller. Helen handles the accounting and finance for all aspects of saddleback associates and the real estate investment portfolio as well. Additionally, Helen prepares company financial statements, files all necessary tax returns, keeps the books for several partnership entities, etc. Helen’s attributes include her hard working attitude, attention to detail, and loyalty to the principals of Saddleback Associates.  
Nerissa Nuqui

Nerissa Nuqui – Executive Assistant and Office Manager

Nerissa has been with Saddleback Associates since 2003 and has an extensive understanding of the overall operation and the company. She combines the skills of an executive assistant and office manager to assist Mark and Tim by planning and scheduling meetings and appointments, managing landlord communications and tenant issues, preparing and editing correspondence and arranging travel plans and itineraries. 

She handles a majority of the property management for the real estate portfolio which include posting rental payments by recording transactions and depositing checks, sending monthly invoices to tenants, tracking lease renewals, loan expirations and renewals, and by being the first point of contact in handling tenant inquiries and issues. Nerissa’s attributes include her positive attitude, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task continuously.
